Daymaniyat Islands SnorkelingAn Independent Guide Check Availability

Editorial Methodology

This page exists so you can judge the comparisons on this site rather than trust them. We compare tour listings, official visitor information and recent traveller feedback. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours, and nothing here is written as if we did. The Daymaniyat Islands snorkeling comparison sits on the homepage.

What this site is

An independent comparison of the guided snorkeling trips that run from Muscat to the Ad Dimaniyat Islands Nature Reserve, plus the practical information a visitor needs before booking one. We are not a tour operator, a travel agency or a seller of travel. We hold no bookings, take no payments and have no staff in Oman.

Every booking happens on the operator's own platform under their terms. If something goes wrong with a trip, the operator and the platform are who you deal with, not us.

Where the tour data comes from

Prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions, exclusions, age limits and cancellation terms are read directly off each operator's own listing and reproduced with the date they were read. Every tour page carries the same fields in the same order so nine trips can be compared line by line, and each one states its own price-last-checked date.

We do not copy operator marketing descriptions. Where an itinerary time or an inclusion is quoted, it comes from the listing's own itinerary block — which is where the crossing times, the snorkel-session lengths and the beach-time figures on this site come from. Where a listing is silent, the field says so rather than being filled in with a guess.

  • Tour listing checked: August 2026
  • Last price check: August 2026
  • Review counts and ratings read on the same date as the price
  • Product IDs published on every tour page so you can verify the listing yourself

Where the reserve information comes from

Permit rates come from the Environment Authority's published service catalogue for the Dimaniyat Islands Nature Reserve: OMR 3 for a non-Omani adult day visit, OMR 6 with diving, OMR 10 with an overnight stay, OMR 1 for children under 16. Currency conversions use a dated rate of 1 OMR to $2.60, checked August 2026.

The seasonal access rule — landings permitted 1 November to 30 April, closed 1 May to 31 October for turtle nesting — appears in the operators' own listings and in the reserve's published rules. Where the reserve's designation, size and bird species are described, the source is the public record for the Ad Dimaniyat Islands, anchored to its Wikidata entity.

Visibility, water temperature and whale-shark timing ranges come from Oman dive-centre reporting and are given as ranges, not promises, because they vary year to year.

How traveller feedback is used

Traveller feedback reviewed: more than 5,200 verified reviews across the nine listings, plus the platform's own category sub-scores for guide, transport and value, and its AI-generated review summaries where they identify a recurring complaint.

We quote reviews with the reviewer's first name, country and the month they travelled, exactly as published, and we do not edit them into something more flattering. Critical reviews are quoted alongside positive ones — the traveller sent to the wrong marina, the trips that reviewers found rushed, the repeated observation that "lunch" often means sandwiches. We never write testimonials.

What we cannot verify

We do not inspect the boats, ride along on the trips, meet the captains or audit safety records. We cannot tell you whether the sea will be safe on the morning you sail, whether a listed toilet is working, or whether a stated inclusion appeared on the day.

We also cannot see live availability or the price you will be quoted for your date. The figures here are starting prices at the time of the check; the number that matters is the one on the checkout page. Several listings show a struck-through higher price, and we publish the price actually charged on the date of the check rather than the crossed-out one.

How affiliate links affect this

Links to trips are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform pays a commission and you pay the same price you would pay going directly. The full arrangement is set out in the affiliate disclosure.

Commission does not decide which trips appear, the order they sit in, or what is said about them. The catalogue is ordered by price and by how the trips differ, not by what they pay; the cheapest listing earns the least and is recommended to most visitors, and the most-booked listing carries this site's most pointed observation, about the permit line missing from its inclusions.

Corrections

Prices in Oman move, permit rates are revised and marinas change their meeting points. If a number here is out of date, tell us what you found and when you were there. Corrections get made and the check date on the page is updated with them.
